Gadugi Weavers
Our group was taught by Cherokee artist Carol Wyatt, who would weave and teach during lunch breaks at work. After weaving together for a few months, we decided to have a booth at Cherokee National Holiday and were honored to be juried in. We named our group Gadugi Weavers because ᎦᏚᎩ (Ga-Du-Gi) is the Cherokee word for working together. I created the designs for the booth and we had a wonderful time meeting other artists and sharing our story.
