Youth Program
Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa's Spring Break Camp is coordinated by their Behavioral Health Youth Program. It enables youth to engage in activities that promote physical and mental health while also connecting them to their cultural roots. Culture is a protective factor in a child's overall wellbeing and this camp shows them various ways they can engage in indigenous culture. This can be through native plants and foods, basket weaving, fancy dancing, and more. This design features an eagle wrapping around the medicine wheel. The medicine wheel is an indigenous symbol used to teach life lessons and represents the cyclical nature of life. The eagle wrapping around the medicine wheel symbolizes the way community protects and honors these life lessons.
